Hypnotherapy That Actually Works: My Story, My Clients, and Why This Changes Everything

Bondi Ben buckler says hypnotherapy that actually works

Most people don’t know what hypnotherapy really is. They think of clucking chickens, stage shows, swinging watches, or giving up control to someone else. And to be honest? I used to think something like that too. But the truth is, hypnotherapy isn’t about being controlled. It’s about finally taking control.

From Lost to Leading

Before I became a hypnotherapist, I had no idea what I was meant to do with my life. I left market research, enrolled in a counselling course, and hated it from day one. It felt vague and slow. I wanted real solutions, not endless circles of talk. Then I watched a live masterclass by Gordon Young on Strategic Psychotherapy and Clinical Hypnosis. Something clicked. It made sense. It wasn’t fluffy or weird. It was structured. Direct. Transformative. So I signed up and never looked back. That course didn’t just teach me how to help people. It changed me. I learned that I am responsible for how I respond in life. Yes, hard things happen. But I still get to choose my next step. When I saw how much this work helped me, I knew I had to share it.

What Hypnotherapy Actually Is

Hypnotherapy isn’t some deep, mysterious trance. It’s not sleep. It’s not mind control. It’s just focused, relaxed attention. Like mindfulness with a purpose. You're fully aware, but your mind is tuned in. That’s when change can really happen. Patterns get interrupted. New insights land. Aha moments happen, not after months of talking, but often in the first session.

Who I Help (And Who Gets the Best Results)

The people I work with are motivated and ready for real change. They’re done with overthinking. They want clarity and movement, not just insight. They often come in struggling with:

  • Anxiety or panic attacks

  • Public speaking nerves

  • Overthinking

  • People-pleasing

  • Perfectionism

  • Sleep issues

  • Boundaries and decision-making

  • And the list goes on, wherever the mind has a part to play

Many have tried traditional therapy before. They understood the problem but still felt stuck. With strategic hypnotherapy, we don’t just talk about the pattern. We interrupt it. And we start something stronger in its place.

What Makes My Approach Different

Clients often tell me:

“I feel like I can say anything.”

“That actually made sense.”

“I didn’t expect to laugh so much.”

I keep things real. I’m not into fluff. You won’t find incense or crystals here. Just sharp tools, honest conversation, and deep results. What we do together feels joyful, safe, and useful. And I’m not just guiding you through hypnosis. I’m helping you learn how your mind works so you can stay in charge well beyond the sessions.

Real Stories, Real Shifts

Here’s what people have said after working with me:

“I had four sessions with Claire and found them fantastic. I've noticed great positive changes in myself.” – Jayne

“As someone that has struggled with anxiety most of my life, Claire helped me shift so much faster than I expected.” – Clare

“I was sceptical, but her approach is so practical and made so much sense. I walked out empowered.” – R.L.

“In just one session, she helped me overcome an issue that had persisted for 15 years.” – Ian

People say the same thing again and again: “I didn’t think change could happen this fast.” But it can. When you work with both your conscious and unconscious mind, everything changes.

My Tools and Philosophy

I use what works. That includes:

  • Strategic Psychotherapy

  • Clinical Hypnosis

  • NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming)

  • CBT, ACT

  • Coaching

  • EFT (Tapping)

  • Custom metaphors and therapeutic stories

  • But more importantly, I use what works for you. We focus on where you’re already strong and build from there.

I’m known for my five practical tools to stop anxiety, my no-nonsense mindset coaching, and the “be the bull” metaphor (if you know, you know) - a reminder that you always have a choice, and the good stuff is right there if you’re willing to face it. You’ll leave each session lighter, clearer, and more in control.

And Yes, I’ve Been There Too

I’ve used all of this on myself. To stop negative spirals. To sleep better. To let go of looping thoughts that used to steal hours from my day. When I catch myself overanalysing or taking something personally, I say one word to myself: “Change.” Because I know I’m the one thinking it. And I’m the one who can shift it.

Ready to Break the Cycle?

If anxiety, panic, public speaking, phobias, or people-pleasing are taking up too much of your life, you don’t need years of therapy. You don’t need to feel broken.

You just need the right strategy.

That’s what I offer. I see clients online and in person in Bondi and Waverley. If you're ready to stop circling your problems and start solving them, let’s talk.
